Protein is the goal when you're trying to lose weight
When you're trying to lose weight, one of the things that you need to learn to love is protein. It comes in all shapes and sizes - chicken, eggs, powders, and milkshakes, to name but a few.
But when it comes to finding the best source of protein for your own goals, it can be a challenge. I've tried everything over time, but I try to focus on natural proteins and making them the centre of my meals, whether that's in a chicken salad, an egg mayo wrap, or a nice steak on a weekend.
I find myself gravitating towards protein labelled foods in the supermarkets, such as yoghurt pouches or ready meals that are 'high in protein'. Quite often they're not any better or worse for you than the alternatives that sit on the shelves around them, but they do stand out on the shelf when you're struggling to decide what you want to buy on any given day.

My protein target each day is 154g, which can be quite difficult to achieve, but as long as I get close to the goal I'm quite happy with it. The added benefit of getting near to my goal is that I do feel very full, which helps me to stop snacking, and stay within my daily calorie allowance.
Overall though, I find that healthy, natural foods tend to get me towards the goal, as long as I remember to put the sweets down and leave the bags of crisps on the supermarket shelves!
